Which regex flavor is used?

What do the g / i / m flags do?
g finds all matches, i ignores case, m makes ^ and $ match line boundaries.
Why does my pattern show a syntax error?
The error message comes straight from the JS engine — usually an unescaped special character or unbalanced bracket.
